One of our pupils asked me last week, “Why is it called the summer term when it is only spring?” A very good question! It certainly hasn’t felt like summer with the frostiest April for 60 years. However, we have been blessed with sunshine and dry weather, and we have made the most of our beautiful grounds.
Junior pupils have been enjoying the junior woods, with meandering paths through the trees and the bluebells.
All junior pupils have designed and painted Welsh themed “fairy doors” to make our junior woods an even more magical place!
And after so many months of being locked down, it’s been great to get outside into the fresh air and sunshine and play with our friends again.
Sean Evans has been here to train our Year 5 and Year 6 classes in cricket. We have some fantastic cricketers and we can’t wait until we can start playing matches – even if it is just Y5 against Y6!
And Year 5 have been starting work on designing and building dens. It’s all about teamwork!
Not quite waterproof yet – but a good first attempt! Well done Year 5.
Our younger pupils have also thoroughly enjoyed getting outside. I think I can spot Reception class in the Foundation Phase Nature Trail. Bore da bawb!
Reception Class have thoroughly enjoyed being back with their friends. We all missed you in school! Let’s have a quick game of hide and seek!
Found you!
Reception pupils collected natural materials to make self portraits:
And Year 2 created their own foliage faces:
But do you know what is even better than the spring sunshine? All these smiling faces … how we have all missed them! It’s brilliant to have everyone back in school.
