In Year 1, homework will be shared on a Wednesday and will need to be completed by the following Wednesday.

In order to remain as safe as possible in the current climate we will also be sharing all homework on Hwb.

You will find a video guide below, which will help you and your child find, edit and save homework.  There will be no need to print anything out.  In some cases, the homework may not need to be edited on Hwb and could be a creative task which can be completed at home.  In this case, photographs can be uploaded to ‘My Files’ for the teacher to see.

Year One Updated Class Letter 8th March 2021

We have been really busy so far this term learning all about the Enchanted Woodland.

We celebrated Culture Week and focused on the country Africa! We looked online for African Zoos and seen some of the animals live in their habitats. We enjoyed learning about Africa and identifying it’s similarities and differences to our own country Wales. We also learned about repeated patterns and created our own patterns using numicon pegs and boards. The children enjoyed making habitats and zoos for our own class safari animals using small world play, wooden blocks and lego! The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about different cultures and worked hard to develop their confidence and independence surrounding their own learning experiences.

We thoroughly enjoyed learning all about Wales. The children loved learning all about Wales when we had a Welsh week. The children loved trying some new Traditional Welsh Foods. The children who had a go at trying all the different welsh foods had a certificate for their efforts! Da iawn Dosbarth Un.

We completed some outdoor learning tasks. We sometimes completed meditations in Year One.

We have been making the most of our outdoor learning facilities and gone on walks within our outdoor learning areas or even within our local community! So far we have used our creative and imaginative skills to collaborate with our peers to develop our confidence! So far we have made nature mobiles, woodland hats, fairy potions and fairy gardens!
